Oven heating element, Caravel

We have a lovely 1965 Caravel that (after 2 years of work) is now road-worthy and almost everything works, except the heating element in the oven. Does anyone know where we can find a replacement without replacing the entire stove?

Do you have a picture or model number from the stove? I have a spare oven/stove (from '64 GT) for parts...maybe something will match-up. What heating element do you mean? Mine are gas pipes with orifices for the flame...or do you mean the thermostat...pics would help.

Hi Shari, I need a part for my stove. Its a magic chef. I have a 1965 Caravel. I need the tube on top that the gas line screws to and then supplies the gas to the control valves. I do have a pic if ya need it.

Not sure it the stove is the same...

PM me a list of the parts you may need...I'll let you know what we can part with and what we'd like to hang onto. Include a picture of the part and the whole stove/oven or model number on tag if you have one. The more info the better ~

Pictures of my stove during our restoration are shown here (starting at post #143)...I have a second one (post #146) that's the same without a window in the door that I bought for parts. Most were not in as good of shape as ours...but some are good enough for back-ups.

Unhappy ncsuzy

I got your photos, but I don't think it's gonna work...different model. The heating element is rotated 90-degrees from mine.

Suzy's - first picture

My spare - second picture

Sorry ~

Hi Shari, I have a three burner stove so I guess I will keep looking. Singleton's RV has a lot of old stoves at their place. When I decide to drive the 80 miles it takes to get there I'll look around.

65 Caravel Oven heating element

Thanks, Shari, for your efforts. Does anyone else know of a good source for oven parts? We'd like to have it working when we go to Canada in June.
