Need oven automatic shut-off valve for 76 magic chef

Hey all,

the automatic shut-off valve in my 76 airstream is sadly stuck in the shut-off position.

I haven't been able to find a replacement for it--can anyone suggest where I can get a suitable replacement part or how to rig it safely for a different solution?

(or, does anyone have an oven lying around for spare parts that could part with it?)

I think I have read here on the forums that the valve is no longer available as it uses mercury as part of it's mechanism. I believe that those who have tried to find a substitute have had no luck.

Please correct me though, if I am wrong.
