Just found this combo
What do you think? Do you like this setup? My wife wants a standard oven / cooktop. We are ready to say goodbye to the convection oven. Currently our convection oven is streetside next to the refer. We were thinking of adding the drawers back into that opening and removing some drawers to add a microwave near the sink like this picture shows. Does anyone have this current setup?
Thanks Vinnie

Yep.. we have made the decision to install the oven some time ago but then saw this factory combination with the microwave installed next to the oven and seem to like it.
I constantly hear about the missing oven and need to fix that.. lol

the under range drawers 4 gas oven swap is easy to do...
basically a direct fit.
shifting the convc/mic into 2 of the short drawers is pretty easy too.
_________
i'm not a fan of LOW mounted microwaves.
hard to see the dials/buttons programing and every time the door is popped open...
STEAM and HOT whatever shoots into yer eyes.
keep the mic' eye level or at least counter top high.
with the addition of a gas blaster
the wife might only need/want a SMALLER micro' box
_________
this time o'year ALL 'boxed cookin' happens outside in a dutch over or over a grill
heatn and cooling the inside of a stream at the same time in the summer, is annoying.
cheers

Thanks 2air,
Im not getting any younger and the bending down to fetch a steaming pot of something is a concern. That was part of the question if anyone else has this setup and how functional it is or isn't.
Thanks for the comments..

hi vin'
the pic u posted was an option set up for folks that wanted both...
when the convec/micros were still a relatively NEW gadget.
_________
in that same photo, one could mount a SHORT mic' ABOVE the range top,
where the overhead locker door/curved wall is...
it needs to be a smaller mic and will be FORWARD about 3 inches (flush with the divider wall)
but it will fit there.
the stove hood/fan can go UNDER the mic.
the only issue being the HOLE In the outside wall for the fan.
one would need to elbow the venting UP to use the same hole...
but it can work.
__________
also there is a newer THINNER PROFILE hood/vent available.
it's got 2 halogen lights and a larger squirrel cage fan
but is a tad thinner than the ventline model...
i recently installed one of these (scratch n dent sale at the factory) and
the REAL LIGHTING and fan are much better.
cheers
