You must have power to use a micro/conv oven.
If you have gas you always are able to use it even if you have no power or power. It is amazing how much we use ours.

Hi
There are folks who are set up to run a microwave on battery / solar power. AS now has at least one product that comes set up that way "stock" from the factory.

What size trailer are you looking at?
If we had more space than in our Caravel 16RB we’d go with a gas oven and a small home appliance microwave stowed under the dinette or somewhere when driving. . We use the microwave in our Caravel for boiling water, heating milk and heating microwaveable veggies and so forth but would like to have a gas oven and it would be great when we don’t have shore power.

We are full time in our 1970 Airstream and boondocks much of the time. I use my gas oven a lot! But we also have a 900 watt microwave that we run on batteries, and an instant pot and small air fryer/convection oven that we run when we have electric hookup or need to run the generator (during long periods of no sun). My husband loves his food!

Hi
There's no debate there ... twins
Same as there is only one hitch to use, one size truck for a given trailer, one brand of truck you must buy, and only one brand of beer to drink.... no debates, it's just how it is

Lorimarie - if you ever think you might camp inside a National Park in a no hook-up site, you might want to go with a propane oven for a quick warm-up on a cold morning. The broiler function makes great toast!
P.S. Crack open your fantastic fans an inch or two for ventilation when using stoves this way.

Hi
Running some sort of ventilation any time the propane stove or oven is running is a real good idea. It's *very* easy to forget when using the oven ....

Got to change order
We had originally gone with the convection/microwave when we ordered. Our salesperson emailed me and said that we could change our minds. After thinking about and listing everything that we might cook in a propane oven vs. convection and taking into account we might want to boondock, we changed to the propane.
Is it typical for the dealership to check on changes or is this possibly due to not being able to get the convection parts?

Strange question here, but is the oven big enough to store a small microwave in it?
We went convection for the microwave popcorn and reheat leftovers (rare with a 13 year old I’m finding).

Hi
Dealers have "been along" on more of these buying decisions than a room full of the rest of us. They have a really good idea of what folks do and do not pick as options. They also get the feedback when a pick goes wrong .... can we change this out? .....

Hi
Not really.
It's not just size, but also weight. Whatever you put in the oven will be bouncing around as you roll down the road. Microwaves are pretty heavy.

JiffyPop…works every time, even over a campfire! Nothing to clean, either.

I think when the time comes, I will go with the propane oven. I can always put in a convection microwave.

Hi
For added fun, you can also make it over the campfire
