Furrion Stove Top Grill Embarrassment
For those of you who spent beaucoup bucks on a Globetrotter only to find an embarrassingly inadequate stovetop grill on your Furrion range, have you done anything to correct the situation? Apologies if this topic has already been (dis)cussed elsewhere.

Hey Gene,
Take a look at the grates shown here. I believe they will fit your current Furrion stovetop.
https://www.etrailer.com/question-511005.html
I used these same grates on my 2022 Globetrotter 27FB Twin Dometic Oven/Stovetop.
Additional information:
You can get mocap black silicon caps for the legs on the cast iron grate (to prevent scratches on the dometic stovetop). You just use a knife to shorten them a bit.
The part number for the black mocap high temp silicon caps: MEC 148-1
The black caps are available on amazon for about $21 for a pack of 50 plugs
You can plug the holes left from the original Dometic grate using 1/4" nickel plated steel plugs from McMaster Carr. These come in a pack of 50 for $13.
The part number for the nickel plated steel caps is 9563K41

Forgot to mention that etrailer will price match. You can find some other sources of the grates at significantly lower prices and provide that information to etrailer.
Here is another airforum thread on upgrading the grates on a furrion oven/stovetop (vs the Dometic stove that I upgraded):

Gene, if I recall correctly, you are just up the road from me here in Far North Dallas. If you want to lay eyes on my grates before you purchase your own, just send me a PM and we can arrange to meet at my trailers storage site in Lewisville.

The Dometic Grates are pretty anemic to say the least. The Furrion cast iron grates drop right in and are a wonderful replacement.

Ronnie, any suggestions for a cast iron upgrade on the crappy Atwood stovetop grates that sag when they get too hot and the black paint burns off of them?

Wow - another first-world problem. But I need those cast iron grates! Thanks for the info!
Amazon has everything cheaper and faster - except a lot of this RV stuff. I did find them at Panther RV for $140.
So after more research, I see some of these Furrion stoves come with really cheap wire grilles. Our grilles are much nicer and have square components but are not cast iron.
Still like the cast iron a lot better but the RV world is it's own universe of options and variations. My model number from the actual stove in our Airstream matches none of the numbers on any of the websites that list the stoves the grilles fit.

I put Furrion cast iron grates on a Dometic oven/stovetop.
Of course, Furrion will not list the Dometic as a stove for which these grates will fit. The reverse is also true. Dometic does not list Furrion grates as a suitable replacement.
So, you have to assess the dimensions and burner locations of the replacement grates vs your current stovetop and determine if the grates will actually work anyway. This is why I posted the link to the etrailer measurements for the replacement grates in my first posting on this thread.
In my case, the only thing that isn't perfect is the location of where furrion placed the burner isn't a perfect match for the locations of the burners on the Dometic stovetop. But it works well and still looks great.

We found the Dometic cast iron grates on ebay for $90 last fall. Might be worth a try.
Took maybe 20 min to change.

do the original dometic grates just pull out or is there a trick to removing them?

The wire frame grates simply pull out vertically.
There are silicone grommets that the grates slide into, these will need to be removed as well. Recommend filling the holes with the McMaster-Carr plugs that I specified in an earlier post in this thread in order to prevent goop from cooking from falling into the holes.
