Cast Iron Cook Top Upgrade

I upgraded my Dometic 3-burner stovetop with cast iron cooking grates. Huge improvement. Fit isnt 100% but close enough, the front burner is slightly off center. Grates slide in, no need to remove any screws. There are several threads on this forum I followed to complete this upgrade.

One of the things you need is 1/4 inch stainless hole plugs (12) to replace the holes from the round grates removed. Since they come in a pack of 50, I have several extras if anyone needs 12, send me a PM and your name and address and I will mail you 12 for free.

PARTS:
1. Furrion Cast Iron Grate Set CFSRE21SA002 from Panther RV Products
2. 1/4" nickel plated panel plugs from McMaster Carr 9563K62
3. 3/16" ID High Temp Silicone Rubber End Caps, I could only find blue but sure they make black or grey. Possibly could have gone 1 size smaller.

I made the same modification. It is a major improvement in looks, performance and especially safety.

And thanks for the offer of sharing the plugs. I personally don't need them but appreciate your kindness.

ColoradoTCE, you are ahead of the game! It took us two years to make the same change. Like Hans627, I appreciate the offer for the plugs but I haven’t noticed any issue leaving the grommets in place.

BTW, you might want to update your signature line with what appears to be a nice Globetrotter with Walnut interior. We’re partial to that color.

What’s next on your upgrade list?

On my…that is awesome. I showed your pics to my wife and she asked why we don’t have that. So I it looks like we’ll be adding that next.

Very nice

Interesting....I have to do some checking for compatibility with my 2007 stove.
I do love McMaster Carr!!! Not cheap but they got what you want and fast for sure.

We did the same and much better than the original free-standing supports. I used high-temperature silicone plugs rated at 500°F and they had held up really well.

I also added high temperature silicone feet to the grates as I didn't want travel to constantly mar the range surface. I'm assuming you did something similar with your #3 reference to the high temperature end caps.

If that’s the Dometic CU434 range/oven, Dometic has discontinued it and no longer sells parts for it.

Planning on the new grates as a gift for my wife. Would love to put those stainless babies to work, and I live just down the street!

Good morning from rainy Virginia

We want to upgrade/replace our 07' 25FB's cooktop/oven but
after seeing your grate upgrade the result is a dramatic improvement.
Thank you for sharing this project.

Panther is Out of Stock on the grates/ looking for another source.
I would appreciate it if you would send a set of the plugs.

Thanks again
