Atwood Stove Piezo Wires

I've been having a problem with the piezo ignition system on our 2014 25ft International.
Finally delved into it and saw a video on the cause . Shorting of the wires due to age and cracking.
Solution. Replace with newer thicker wires.
Problem. Only wires available are too short.
RV store tells me to run the wires over the burner tube instead of around like the original.
I don't like thar idea.
Any suggestions?

New shrink tubing over the existing wires worked on my BBQ grill.

Further to this: I was at the local RV supply who services Atwood, and measured out the updated part # 57553 for the set of piezo wires.

The original are 39 inches long. All that is required is about 27 in.
The updated part 57553 is 20 in. long and I am told that its because the stove is so old (2013) wow.
So to the new plan and I am trying to source 1/4 in 3:1 shrink tube.
Longest available is 36 in.(of course)
I suppose I could purchase new terminals and cut them down or buy 50 ft of tubing from Amazon.
Any other suggestions?

Curious if you were able to fix this problem. I have bought two sets of the replacement Atwood 57553 ignition wires. All of them were literally burned by the gas and a fire ensued on my burner. I no longer use the front burner as it is a fire hazard. I have had 3 technicians service the cooktop.

At this point, I'm considering a new cooktop (my mfg. date is 06/19/18).

Is there anything special about the wire? Why not cut a length from a spool of comparable gauge?

I don't know if there is anything special about the wires. I have a hard time finding them in a hardware store and have had to order them online. I am hoping for insight from this forum.
