Yes folks, I GIVE UP!!!! After looking for the past 6 yrs. for an original M50 to replace the blown unit in our Overlander, we will be fitting her with a new RM 2551. I "WILL" however, keep the the original side board (with book and map holder) and top, fitting the new frig proportionally. The one advantage to this unit over the old is 2-way power, THAT will be an asset. Other than that, I will miss the old one, she served us well. I just hope the new one will be as "36 yrs reliable" as the last!

I appreciate your feelings for the original. I love the idea of my original unit still working after all these years. I'm sure you will salvage what you can from the unit. I'd be interested in your replacement, ie, what type, size etc, since someday I'm sure I'll be upgrading too. Mike
