Not all parts need to be replaced, as of yet....
Got a polot cotrol valve, and a new thermocouple. The origional two port pilot needle attached directly to the new pilot vave.
These were OTC parts from the local HVAC house. As it turns out, the klixon melted because the pilot light was sett to high, and well, it was simply old. Will try connecting it all and testing it after I get a few spare parts to do fitment tests on.

***This is just a quick update, I am NO WHERE near answering all my/your questions on this effort. ***

Thanks for all the info, from both sides of the agument.

Brian

The Dometic fridge in my 60 has a retrofited burner and control. It's really not very complicated. All it needs is heat up the tube and a control mounted strongly to the base of the fridge. Mine has worked for a few years now with no problems. It's a little overrated as turned up I can make the fridge into a freezer.
I know that a dealer can't do this kind of thing, and I won't do it for you but it's mine and I know it's good.

It still amazes me how you can heat something up and it makes something cold. Tries all of the tricks on my 72 Dometic and couldn't unclog the system so I upgraded. How many people have a 38 year old fridge still in their houses?

Soldermedic helped me install my new furnace in my 72 on a very cold Texas afternoon at the Vinage Rally in lake Conroe. Great guy to have in your neighborhood.
