Refrigerator won’t run on propane

I’m currently traveling and the refrigerator runs fine on AC and sufficiently on
12 v. When I push the control button on to run it on propane, the light flashes and fridge beeps for about 30 seconds, but will not start on propane.The water heater and stove work fine. When I push the button to run fridge on propane, the igniter does not activate, no sound, as if control board is not sending a signal to the igniter. After having traveled some miles with the fridge powered by the battery, a clicking sound emanates from the control box and stops only when I switch to AC. It’s Not the igniter making that sound. Is it a faulty control box?Any suggestions?

Probably a bad control board would be my guess. If you can find a repair manual for it, it will have some troubleshooting steps and how to check things. I would check to make sure all connections are intact.

I has that issue once with my Dometic refrig in my Globetrotter. Not sure if this will work for you but, there is a Button with a triangle. It is a reset button. Press that button, then try your propane button and see if it works.

No problem- glad it worked. I have to let you know that when we had the problem on the road my wife just searched the problem on The Airstream Addicts Facebook page and that solution came up. I don’t think you can find any answers quick in the manuals.

I carry my manuals in the AS but if you don't want to bother you can download manuals to your laptop, assuming you have one of those.

Since we store our AS off-site I'm always needing some information from one of the manuals, so having them on the laptop is better than transferring the bundle from AS to house. Just go to the manufactures' website and download the PDFs.

I just when through a summer of Dometic frig E-1 errors bought a new board (at $350cn) which ended up not working. The frig would lite for 30 seconds then shut off. Ended up being the thermal coupler. What this does is tells the control board the LP is lit and working. I would check that first!!!

Try turning refer off, then on again when not plugged in to ac.

Where is the "button"

Button is on control panel on front of refrigerator. It’s the last one on the right with the exclamation point. I thought it was a warning light, but it’s also a button.
