My 1987 refrigerator was too cold last week. It seemed slow getting down to the below 40 range but, then it just kept going to about 26 degrees. It froze nearly everything in the box.
I was on electric and turned the control down from max to absolute minimum. It started coming back up but, I never really gained control over the temperature. Too cold if that can be a problem!
Is there a circuit board, etc that can go bad in this age box?
The thermostat (separate for gas and electric operation) can certainly stick or otherwise fail or could possibly become dislodged. If dislodged, it would be reading outside temperature and would go full cole.
