Refrigerator Replacement Size Problem

My RM60 just packed it in this year. With my research on the net I found out that the boiler leaked. ( Yellow resdue powder around the burner section)

The suggested replacement for the RM60 is a RM2510 The RM2510 is 1 inch taller in heigh. I don't think I have the space to refit the new unit. The next size smaller is RM2410 its about 7 inchs shorter. Hate to lose more refrigerator space.

RM60 39 3/16H X 21 7/8W X 23 5/8D
RM2510 40 5/16H X 21 13/16W X 24D
RM2410 32 7/16H X 21 13/16W X 24D

I have a '73 Tradewind where the refrigerator fits tight to the floor up the the counter top. No room for modification unless I rip out the counter top and the tabour door over the counter which I like very much.

Has anyone change a unit like this? Anyone with suggestion?

That's a shame~
Have you contacted anyone of the dealers about having it rebuilt?
There's several in the States, that provide just this type of service.
Here's a few:

I though of that but I live up in Canada. No repair place here that I know of. Can't ship a refrigerator to the USA for repair. But thanks for the links, good info.

Well, I decided to replace it with a new one the RM2510, after I got started it was very easy to accomadate. The one inch that I was so worried about, how I was going to raise the counter. The one inch carried on through. The top cabinets are not tight against the ceiling so that is where I was able to gain my inch without any cutting the cabinets anywhere.

While I was at it, I replaced the Harvest Gold counter tops with almond colour and also upgraded the flooring. follow the org thread to see the before and after results.

How do you like your wood floor. Am thinking about putting one in my 24ft Argosy. Did you by any chance replace those end caps on the upper cabinets? Mine are cracked and I'm trying to decide what to do with them.
