Question Refrigerator Problems

2008 25ft Ocean Breeze
Yesterday pulled trailer out of storage-turned on Dometic Refrigerator to electric house power. The refrigerator immediately turned on and came to proper temperature. This am when ready to load frig- no power-no-digital readout-no interior light. All other electric systems work in trailer-TV as well as the furnace-propane only, hot water heater which is propane only and stove works. can't figure it out-no fuses tripped-no funny electric smell. Being 12 yrs old did it die overnight?

thanks for your thoughts-Paul

The lights and all control functions of your refrigerator are powered by 12V-dc from the RV battery/12V system. My guess given the limited description you provided is that the problem is in the 12V supply, not the refrigerator at this point. Without a working 12v supply the refrigerator will not run in either electrical or propane mode and the lights will not be illuminated.

First check the 12v fuses located in the power panel. If all are good, then the next place to inspect is the control board on the back of the refrigerator itself. There are one (maybe two) blade type fuses on the control board and one glass tube type.

The board you seek is under a black cover and the sample board shown here has two glass tube fuses:

Our RM2551 exterior coil fan has quite coming on. Is there a way to check the thermocouple at home. Maybe take it off. put in our house oven and check the ohms before and after it gets to 100 degrees or more. Thanks
