Refrigerator Fan Won't Come On
I recently was traveling, and my refrigerator stopped cooling. I noticed the fan was off. I purchased a replacement fan on Amazon ($12) and it went right in where the other one came out. There was a third wire coming up I think from the thermostat. I had to just wire it into where the hot was (like hotwiring it). It now runs all of the time as I've essentially wired around whatever turns the fans off. I had called a RV dealer in the town where we were traveling and he said Dometic said there was no fan in our model of fridge (crazy). Anyway, I need to know what could cause a fan never to come on. Is this a thermistor issue, a control panel issue, or both? Or, is is something else? The model refrigerator is Dometic RM3762LBX. I'm in a mode to learn everything about this airstream as I plan to keep it for the rest of my life. I also need to figure out an easier way to know which parts are okay and specific to my refrigerator. I tried to find an original fan like the one in there, and that was a nightmare. There's got to be an easier way to follow up for parts on these main appliances in our campers. I just don't know how interchangeable they are from model to model.
