The latch that holds my refrigerator door is busted. 2 dealers have tried to order me one but tell me that it is obsolete. Grr!
I have attempted to repair it to no avail.
Anyone out there know where I can get the latch for a mid 1980's Dometic 2501? It is a plastic piece that mounts on the refrig chassis (not the door), and twists. It permits the door to be opened, locked shut, or locked open when not in use.
Assuming that you talked with Fogdall's in Cedar Falls IA?
And US Adventure RV in Davenport IA?
Next I'd try VintageCampers.com in Peru IN
And TheAirstreamGuy.com in KS.
Also I've read here on forums that InlandRV.com in CA has lots of discontinued parts.
Then if that doesn't work, PM me to ask around with our camping friends.

If you are unable to find an exact replacement, check marine parts stores (e.g., West Marine). They have similar latches for boat refrigerators, etc., that might work.
