I knew that almost all RV refrigerators need to be defrosted periodically, but I've run into a lot of younger people who simply never had an old refrigerator and can't imagine black and white TV's or computer monitors. They wonder what that huge lump of ice is in the top back side of their refrigerators and why the unit seems to not be cooling as well as it used to.

An hour later, after removing all of the food, turning off the fridge, filling a bucket with Ice sheets and dripping water and using a hair dryer to break up the icebergs - their refrigerator is ready to work again, and work WELL.
I once suggested to some one to try that and they were adamant that their fridge was a frost free and something had to be wrong. The freezer 1/4 full of ice totally confused them. They called a mobile repair man. The first and only thing he did was turn off, empty and defrost the unit. It worked 100% after that. My advice, free. His $200.

TG, Started frig.yesterday at 1:30 pm checked this morning at 10;30 am.It was 33.It was 70 here today.I think the problem was the temp.at 98 and no air moving.Cleaned all contacts.Model # is 2620 Dometric.Might leave the outside door open & get a small fan when its hot.
If that doesn't work I will check other suggestions.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

To date this is what has been done.
Made a manometer & the water column is 12 lowed to 11.
Installed battery operated fans. One in rear of fridge towards vent, vent is clear.
Another in the fridge to circulate air.
As stated cleaned all contacts.
Best I can get is 33 morning & 45 afternoon with afternoon temp. at 85.Not opening fridge.Running on propane.
Is this the nature of the beast or can I do better?
Normetric 2620.

Thanks,
Ray

Your gas is too low. Needs to be 14-16" wc.
I went through this 2 years ago. Increased my regulated to 15-16" wc and cooling is great again!

Sorry not to more specific at the time. This is a solar fan I stalled. Requires no electricity except for the sun, that is the time when the air circulation is needed the most. It is switchable inside the cabinet adjoining the frig inside the cabin.
