Norcold in the news
I've been having an ongoing issue with my Norcold refrigerator in my year old Globetrotter. Stuff happens, right? The dealership that I've purchased from for years, and who has generally been very competent, has been giving me a run around on the fridge. Telling me that Norcold has been unresponsive, etc. Can't get troubleshooting information, etc. I was getting pretty perturbed with them until I dug into it further.
Houston, we have a problem!
Thetford, the owner of Norcold, has shut down two manufacturing plants and transferred operations overseas. Boom! The first plant shut down about the time the fridge first started giving me fits. The second plant shut down right after it went in the third time.
The dealership is doing everything they can, it seems, but the Norcold warranty may not be worth spit right now. It's not Airstream's problem, it's not their refrigerator. It's not Norcold's problem, they don't work there any more.
Your best bet is probably to buy repair parts on the open market and have them installed by a competent tech.
