I was thinking about making a home made gereraor with a 200 amp car alternator AND a 2000 to 5000 watt sine wave inverter I have the 6 hp engine its a honda to from a old pressure washer it couldrun the 120 volt items and charge the batterys at 12 volts at the same time ..if need be ... would that be feasable?

Make that 2 X 6VDC golf cart batteries in
series to get 12VDC. A parallel connection between 2 6VDC batteries will still net you 6VDC, but double the amperage. If you use 4 golf cart batteries, you set them up in 2 series pairs and then parallel them. I am planning on doing just that when I get back to FL in the Fall.....giving me 4 batteries with 600 amp/hours of capacity.
On your generator idea.......maybe. I'm not an expert on the automotive side of things, but if you were going to go that route, I would just get a 2400 watt Yamaha or 2 2000 watt Hondas and use them to run your trailer and call it a day! They would run whatever you like, including a 13.5K roof air.
