Generaly there are 2 large screws, one on each side, screwed into the flooring at the rear of the frig.

The front can have lots of small screws around the edges.

Look down under, mate

The refrigerator, in my Overlander, was installed after the belly skin was.

On my Airstream, the belly skin has two rubber plugs directly beneath the refrigerator's floor-bolts to seal the holes the technicians used to install the bolts.

Have you checked out this site?

http://www.snydersrvrefrigeration.com/page6.html

Part of the removal instrunctions indicate that the unit may be siliconed in place.

Just took mine out of a 79 Argosy and it had a piece of aluminum screwed to the side of the frig. and to the wall, I had to remove the partition to get to it.

A couple years ago, someone on the forum took pictures while replacing their fridge. Anyone remember who it was?

Craig,

John HD documented replacing the innards on his fridge. Did he detail the removal in the same thread?

i didn't take any detail shots of the removal as it was straight forward, 2 large screws though the floor in the rear and four on the face of the fridge.

the bottom of mine was siliconed but the sides and top used open cell foam tape.

Removing the fridge

As opposed to just about every other coach manufacturer in the world which puts in the cabinets first and then bolts the fridge to the floor, Airstream does it backwards on this vintage of coach They put the fridge in position 1st and then build the cabinetry around it. I know this for a fact on my 71 because I have taken it out. The bulkheads and counter tops are screwed into the fridge which holds it in place, but it is not screwed to the floor. This means I had to take out the bulkheads, one cabinet and the counter. Not quite as bad as it sounds.

If you are considering replacing the fridge make sure you can get a replacement that will fit. Neither Dometic or Nor Cold make a model of close size to my original. I would have to go bigger or smaller. There are several people out there that will rebuild the original units.

Remove the Partition

You've got to remove the partition to the right of the fridge. There's no other way.

You'll find two pieces of aluminum holding it in place...one on the floor and one on the curved wall. There are no other screws unless it's been replaced.

Seems like a pain but there's no other way, trust me....I know!

Here's a picture of it removed in my '73 Sovereign. (Sorry, I didn't take any pics of the old one attached to the wall and floor.)

I just finished taking one out. However, I was doing a complete gutting so it was much easier. This is on a 65 Overlander 26' and, as mentioned in prior thread, there is aluminum attached to the back of the frig at the top connected to the wall. Also, there were 4 large bolts that went through the floor. I did take photos, I'll see if I can get them to post... good luck.

You ought to see Ron in action at the campground with his kids - That guy can really work well with large groups of people.
