Having problems with Dometic Refrigerator
Please Help me!I can't get my Dometic refer to fire up on propane or electric.I have power to the outlet that it's plugged into.It is level foward aft but off a little bit side to side.Does it have to be perfectly level?
I don't know what else to try.I did try to lit it from the outside that's why you'll notice the black marks.
Please ignore the silver bullet.

I'm not a refer expert but I can tell you that the leveling issue for RV refrigerators is for the ammonia heat-exchange system, not for whether or not the burner will light, so slightly imperfect leveling shouldn't keep it from lighting off.

Do you have your travel rocker switch in the correct position? I had fits with mine once and several days later realized I had the switch in the "store" position which defeats all systems.

Some refers (not all) have a small 3 way rocker switch that allows you to select run, store and ? Mine is on the face of the unit between the fridge and freezer doors. Look all around the front top to bottom for a switch that is about 1/2" x 3/4". Hope this is your solution. Good luck!

I have a copy of a service manual I can send you. I tried to e-mail it to you but you do not have that option set up.
If you PM me your e-mail I will send it to you.

Looks like someone is drinking on the job! Mine frig is on the blink too. Seems from what you say, you are getting juice, but no heat in the 'chimney' and no gas at all. You have to have heat on the ammonia for it to work. trace the gas line to see that it is not cut off somewhere. Check the "on" switch in the front for the electricity, and that it is switched to "on." Don't know how you would get two 'switch' problems at once, but you seem to have that.

I recieved the service manual.Thank you very much.Armed with new information I was able to attack the refer and determine that I was not getting gas.The gas valve control at the refer was not opening.ONce I figured that out she fired right up.Now to give it a few hours to see if it cools down.It is to good to be true?Time will tell. Then it's on to the electrical side of the refer.Keeping my fingers crossed.
What a great sight.

Glad I could help. Give the fridge at least four to six hours to get cold. It may take even longer in the Texas heat. BTW you can take the Texas heat back any time you like. It's 90 F here right now and the expected low tonight is 84F with the high peaking tomorrow at 97F.

No luck on the switch on my model but I was able to figure out that the refer wasn't getting gas. After 6 hours the freezer is working but the refer is barely cool.I'll see how it is working tomorrow.
Thanks for the help.

So far so good freezer is freezing and the refer is cool.Hopefully by morning we'll see if the refer is working.
As far as the heat It's been brutal here also.So far this year we've had 30 days over 100 degrees compared to only 15 same time last year.Guess it's a hot one for most of the US.I still have to figure out the ac on the AS.
Thanks again for your help.

Refer is down in the 40 degree range which is pretty considering the outside temp. Thanks for the help everyone.
