Has anyone replaced a RM100 Dometic refrig?

I have a 1976 Sovereign and I was looking at the base of my refurbished refrig and it sit's different than the rm100 . The left side has half the base than the right side AND it sits on the wheel well(which has caused the wheel well to have holes). What I want to do is lift the base 2 inches to clear it from sitting on the wheel well. I know this will change the vent shaft for the back of frig I can deal with that BUT I need to figure out how to weld the aluminum base that I am building up. Hardware I don't think will hold together with Nuts and bolts the metal is to week. SO here is the ? Is there a way you can braze or weld aluminum without 2000 dollars worth of welding equipment?.. Or should I build out of different material?
