Frost on Freezer Door?
My 1980 Caravell has a Norcold 774 EG2 in it and is staying cold. I am concerned that when I open the frig door the small freezer door has a small build up of frost on it! Is that normal? If the frig needs work I would like to do it during these long Winters Idaho days instead of the nice sunny Summer months! Thanks, Don
Do you have a manual for the frig? If so, you might look to see if that issue is addressed. Another thing you could do is contact the manufacturer to see what they say.
It could be that the seal for the freezer is not sealing well and letting colder air out into the main refrigerator compartment. Try cleaning the seal (with mild soapy water) and lubricating it with a vinyl or rubber treatment to see if that helps (being sure to wide it clean after treatment so you don't have any residual.
The other thing that might be happening is simply due to humidity in the air... ans the cooler surface of the freeze compartment is freezing that humidity to form frost...if that's what's happening, it's probably a seasonal thing.
