Fridge door too big

I have a problem with my fridge door. It's too big. The sides of the plastic shelves in the door actually rub on the sides of the box when the door is shut. This keeps the door from sealing tight, thus causing lots of frost inside on the cooling part. We tried wacking with a hammer & board to straighten it out, but the sides actually seem to be bulging. It seems like the door expanded when it got wet or maybe it was filled with too much insulation? My question is this....Can it be fixed? It doesn't look as if the door can come apart without being destroyed. If not, where is a good place to look for a used door for a -'76 excella? If there isn't anyplace, where is a good place to look for a new door for a '76 excella? Thanks in advance to all the Airstream geniuses!

swollen fridge door

Hi Becky, our fridge did the same thing and I found out the trick is to keep it closed all the time or it would re-swell.
