Freezer Ice cold, fridge hot HELP

My freezer is ice cold and fridge part is hot. Took a thermistor reading on my ohm meter, 200K ohms setting it is reading 3.3. Internal fridge temp is 73 F. Does this indicate a bad thermistor? I have tried moving the thermistor up to the highest point on the coils, but no luck. It has been hot here, but have both internal and external fans running. Any thoughts really appreciated!! Thank you, Chris.

From Dometic Refrigerator Performance Testing doc.

"Check the ohms value of the thermistor. In a glass of ice water at approx. 34 degrees F you should see between 8,500 and 9,000 ohms +/- 10%"

Was your reading 3.3K ohms?

Just did the test with ice water, 8400 ohms!! I am wondering if it is the board. It's a dinasaur board. I can't remember if I replace it or if it was in the 1976. Do you think it could be a board problem? Thanks for the quick reply.

Door seal?

Are you on the road right now need fridge ASAP?

Been on the road and just got home yesterday. Came home early because of fridge problem. Have been on both AC and propane, with no difference. Door seals are good! Will head to Winnipeg after lunch and get a new board. Have to get back on the road Saturday at the latest, as Brother-in-law is in hospital and terminal. Wife left last night and I will follow as soon as fridge fixed. Thank you for the help!

Chris

How does this unit know cool freezer more and less cooling to fridge?

It’s one system divided by its own design, right?

Gary

When my RM 2820 did that I had to replace the cooling section with rebuilt as there was a blockage (probably corrosion) in the tubing after the freezer section.

I went and picked up a new "board". Have a very good independent RV tech that I have worked with a lot in the past, and told him my problem. symptoms, and reading. He is quite sure that it is the board failing. Will install tomorrow morning when it's a bit cooler and see what happens!! Thanks to all for the thoughts, and that is a very good video, GCinSC2. Will save that for future reference.

Hopefully your new board will solve the problem as a hot fridge is really a problem. I too have a 1994 footer and have a similar problem except it does not work on gas and I had to bypass the board hooking up the heating element directly to 120v and everything is working. But I am guessing my board also needs to be replaced. What did your new board cost and is it a dinasaur board? Part number? Not sure what the differences are between a dinasaur and OEM board. All help appreciated.
