Fan motor on Refrigerator

I have a 2015 Flying Cloud 25. The refrigerator fan motor that was new to the 2015 models is very loud and stays on alot. Would it hurt if I unplugged the fan motor from the unit. Earlier models do not have the fan motor and cooled fine, even here in Texas. I have also noticed the newer models do not have the additional vent area on top of the refrigerator with the noisy fan motor. What are your thoughts?? Thanks

Feel free to swap out the fan as DIY if you have some electrical knowledge. Computer fans can be as effective moving air and considerably quieter. Here is a pic of another's project recently posted:
