Dometic RM100 Knob
The refrigerator in my AS is a Dometic RM100. The knob used to select LP or Elect. to run the unit is broken off. Where can I obtain a replacement knob for this unit? Is this something that an RV dealer would stock? My nearest "local" RV dealer is about 55 mi. away. The next closest option is about 95 mi. away.

You probably will not find a replacement knob at a dealer for the RM100.
How about trying your favorite home depot or if you are lucky you may get a knob from a forum member with a dead refer.

broken knobs?
A common problem.
Give the fellas at Crane RV refrigeration in California a call. Go Google and find their website, something like gasrefrigeration.com. I was able to get the full set of salvaged knobs and shafts for my old Dometic of which new parts are unavailable.
Very helpful folks, I had the parts within a day or so, reasonable prices also.

Clever play on words.(haha). This is the first time I have tried to fire up the friggerater and I did not know to push in first, then switch to electric, so I twisted and bingo, the knob came off in my hand. Good news is it's working, got down to 30 degrees inside frig overnite, now i'm trying it on gas.(First time for my new(to me) old airstream. Maybe I will actually get to go camping in it, after painting bathroom, painting tub and sink, new tires and brakes, new carpet, new power supply(whew) don't tell my wife I spent all this money.

Anybody ever use this stuff?
This is an old thread, but I think I have found a product that I can use to fix the knobs on my rm100. New knobs are available, but are $$$$$$ and also the wrong color. I've been looking for a way to rehab the old ones instead, and spend the $$$$$$ on fixing something else (I have a list, don't we all?). I found a new product called Plastic-Aid. In a YouTube video it shows how you can make moulds out of play dough and pour exact copies, among other things. I'm thinking I can fill the hub of the knob with stuff, spray some wd40 on the shaft, push the knob back on to make an impression, then wait for it to cure. If anybody has used this I'd like to hear your experience.... If not, you might find the video interesting. Go to YouTube and look up Plastic-Aid.
