Dometic replacement

Seems the time has come to replace our thirty year old frig,, a Dometic RM2601.
We had the coil rebuilt several years ago but now we’re having issues with the thermocoupler and control issues,,, and the door, and the light, etc..
Our local tech is telling us the closest fit is a Norcold NA7LXR..
it seems it is about two inches wider and taller,,, not the best and not sure how extensive the modifications will be..
Ours is a 1989 Excella 25, wondering who else has encountered this and how best to move forward..

1985 Excella 27 midbath (in process of interior update)

If you go taller you may need to build yourself a different cabinet above.

We have removed and put such upper cabinet back in, so if our Dometic Americana goes out & we decide on the Norcold 7, we will remove the upper cabinet anyway and rebuild into one that accommodates the 7; that being said, when we first removed the bulkheads and cabinets we found that the replacement under PO, a 2003 Dometic, the coil on the left had melted the contact paper facade of the 1/8” HDF fiberboard next to it-a fire hazard. So we ordered a piece of ceramic insulation from Grainger and placed a piece in an opened Foster’s beer can (had to drink the beer first) and high-temp taped all that to the offending coil.

When and if we have fridge replaced we will be there to make sure it’s done right, because finding the charred and melted contact paper was scary!
