We are on the road at this time driving towards a dealer in Tampa so i cannot assess if this problem persists on ac. I can say that when we were plugged into shore power on auto mode there was no cooling. We have been on LP only for about 24 hours and we are noticing a tiny bit of cooling in the freezer. The main compartment is still wsrm. No evidence of cooling whatsoever.

A "feature" of at least this model of the refrig is that once it fails to light on propane, in auto mode it won't automatically revert to 120 when shore power is connected, so you have to ether turn it off and then back on or switch it to electric mode manually and then back to auto.

We are at the dealer in Tampa now. Hoping they’ll be able to assist. The service manager confirmed that the pilot light is indeed lit.

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately it’s just not that simple. The warranty is from dometic so a dealer must go through their entire testing process before The unit can be replaced or repaired. Sounds like they’ll need it for an overnight visit. I will keep this from informed as we progress

One thing to always check is the 120 volt refrigerator plug in the bottom of the refer outside compartment. Quit often when techs don't want the refer to come on during maintenance that will un-plug the unit there. I have had that happen several times.

Looks like you got some good advice so far. But one more thing that it seems no one mentioned yet. it is new and never been used it is possible the manual gas shutoff valve is closed. It is a very small valve in line with the solenoid valve In the outer fridge compartment. It has an arrow on it that should be “in line” with the 1/4 inch gas line. If it is shut off it will be perpendicular to the gas line. Let me know what you find.
Thanks.

The Tampa Dealer is GREAT (got #3 from them)

I'm also glad to see Airstream Ohio jump in to help.

I had this happen to me on our #1 (25 ft Flying Cloud) and it was because both LP tanks were LOW.

The gas water heater worked fine but for some reason there was not enough "partial pressure" (LP gas pressure to atmospheric) for the frig to work properly.

From thence, I always maintained a full tank (determined by weight).

Obvious Question

Am wondering if you had a walk through with the dealer prior to taking possession? Certainly should have been done and caught there. BTW I thought all AS Dometic frigs defaulted to AC when plugged into shore power and on auto.

Update

The dealer has tested the refrigerator and it will be replaced. Thanks to everyone who tried to help.

This was written after I saw you had resolved the issue (get a new fridge). However, the following tips may help.

Two things to consider:

1) Is the fridge loaded with warm food? If so, it may take a longer period of time to cool everything. I try to pack cool food just before leaving.

Also, is there room for air to circulate? If not, try rearranging stuff. Also, a small, AA-battery powered circulating fan in the compartment might help.

(Is the freezer cold?)

2) Is there an exhaust fan in the external compartment? If not, you might try adding one. I have a 12V computer cooling fan.
