Dometic freezer door

Hi,
Sport 22 has dometic rm2351(?) fridge.
Springs on freezer door are shot so freezer door falls open when fridge is open.
Anyone with same problem?
Replace springs, whole door..$$$
Any cheap solution?
I know, not with an Airstream...just cough the $$$ for new springs.

ok ok questions are need to be asked before buying right parts.

Are the springs still inside the holes on sides: left and right side? if so. leave the springs there. do not take them out. you might need to check to see if the Left or right Handed Freezer Spring Casing are broken more likely both are broken

look up in https://www.amazon.com/s?k=dometic+r...l_3ij52gi89n_b

you might need to order both right and left Handed Freezer Spring Casings look up what model fridge you have.

then go to Youtube https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...6CD6608E0F9C96

go from there

Freezer door springs

I just fixed mine, and it was not the spring failing, but rather the housing in the side wall that holds the spring had failed. Originally a 1/16th inch hole had been drilled in to this housing which locked down the end of the spring. I drilled another hole 90degrees from the original hole, put it back together and it works like it is supposed to. I was able to remove the housing by using a thin putty knife and working around the base, yes they were glued in but mine came out with out damaging other parts.
