Dometic Air Foil Kit

I thought I'd pass this info along as someone might find it useful.

Some time ago I had the flame on my Dometic RM-2807 go out while I was enroute, and arrived to find my internal in the red danger zone... too warm. Apparently the fridge I have will try to reiznite 3 times before it goes into a lockout mode and give up. I mentioned this to another RV person who mentioned he had the same problem ALL the time on his SOB> he mentioned the final remedy for him was a Dometic supplied air foil retrofit kit. It is composed of a metal shield that covers the burner, and a buffer of sorts that covers the external vent, which allows big gusts of wind in.

My fridge came with the metal shield in place, but not the baffles ofer the outside vent. After a little conversation with Dometic, they tracked down this old part number and as rumered they are sending one free of charge. I reading the PDF they sent me, it is stressed in warm weather, and overnight stops, the buffer must be removed to allow better circulation. I have heard fellow streamers complain of a flame out, this might just be the ticket to this problem!
Attached is a PDF of the kit they are sending me. I'll report back and include some images of this thing.

How did this work for you? It doesn't look like you can use the vent door baffles but the shield on the burner could be useful.
