John,
I've heard of them but never dealt with them. Their site seems very comprehensive though. The folks that 'wrote the book' on absorptive refrigeration re-conditioning are Ford and Ford. I believe that they are in Kentucky. I have their contact info buried somewhere. Let me know if you need me to dig it out.

John,
Changing the cooling unit is not rocket science, but there are a few tricks that will speed your install. If you don't get comprehensive instructions with it drop me a line and I'll help you out!

cool, thanks for the offer, i may take you up on it!
after reviewing nu cold's web site i do not think it will be a huge pain... we will see....
the reason i decided on them is because they use a foam mold that is supposed to fit different models closely vs having to custom fit the foam block.
btw, it was $529.00 with door to door shipping via ups.

John,
I have never used an aftermarket cooling unit as my customers only want to replace them with the OEM replacements, which are all exactly the same as the one that is removed. I would think that 'custom fitting' a foam block would not be a user friendly task as this part should fit in it's space on the fridge perfectly and although they may look the same, almost every model is different! The fit is VERY important to proper cooling!!!
Let me know what it looks like when you get it.
