While drying my hair the breaker was over loaded and power to my trailer was out. Soon after this event, I smelled ammonia coming from the refrigerator. Any ideas what has happened?
The smell of ammonia is a symptom that the cooling unit on your refrigerator is leaking. Do not attempt to use it, especially in propane mode. You need to take a look at the back of the unit and verify the leak.
If it is leaking you have two options. Remove the refrigerator and have the cooling unit replaced or replace the refrigerator.

But I doubt that the two events are connected in any way. That is overload from the hair dryer and the refrigerator issue. They just happened at the same time.
Take her to a R.V. place that know's what their doing, they can test it. My feeling, is the fridge is shot , anytime you "smell that smell" you replace it, don't have it rebuilt, REPLACE IT! Believe me, we've been there: a re-build will not last long. (Ours lasted a year). Being full-time, we get 10 years out of a fresh Dometic. We replaced ours last year: 2K parts /labor, big deal (after the shock wore off and we had a fridge again).
