1975 Ambassador refrigerator

Newbie here. Looking for some advice on how to turn on our frig! We just bought a 1975 ambassador and when we purchased it the refrigerator did work. We noticed that the knob is broken and turning it on has become some what of a challenge for my husband. Any words of knowledge out there?Help!

My first question would be. Which knob is broken? Are you trying to run it on propane or electric?
I have a '74 Argosy. Your refer may be the same as mine. If you PM me with your email address I will send pics of mine with operating instructions.
