1974 Dometic. freezer works, but no fridge?

Hello All,
Re: The original Dometic fridge in our 1974 Airstream.
Plugged directly into AC and the freezer gets cold but the refrigerator section doesn't get cold.
Left it plugged in for 2 days, nothing. Any ideas?

What shape is the door gasket in? What setting do you have the thermostat (electric) set at? If it has control knobs inside near the bottom. Make sure the electric thermostat is set to at least 5. When you are on propane there is a different thermostats than when you are on electric.
Have you tried it on propane? If you put water in the freezer. Will it freeze.?
Is the refer level? Check it by putting a level on the floor of the freezer. Don't go by the levels on the trailer.
Let us know what you find.

The fridge and freezer have separate coolant systems and sometimes 1 of the 2 gets clogged with loose corrosion and stops working. Sometimes can be cleared by turning the fridge upside down other times the fridge must be rebuilt or replaced.

The trailer was not completely level when we were trying to run the refrigerator, will it not run if it's not level?
The PO had the fridge on it's way out the door when i bought the trailer, so I figure he was having some trouble with it as well. It needs a lot of work in the rust dept anyhow... thanks for your inputs!!!

When I bought our trailer, the refer was setting in the PO's garage. He said it didn't work. I took it with me, since he had no use for it. I replaced the burnt out electric heating element and installed a new thermocouple on the gas side. Total cost; less than $100.00. It's been in service for over
2 1/2 years. As long as the ammonia doesn't leak out. And I can get parts, I think it will serve me well.
And yes, the refer must be level. The older units were more sensitive to this than the newer ones.
