1968 Caravel Refrigerator....

I am asking the community for their help. I do this often and am always grateful for those who do. That is why I always give my full attentions when people call asking for advice...
I have a fantastic upcoming project restoring a 1968 Caravel from the axles up. She is in rough shape but complete except for the fridge. I am willing to pay out right for one, trade parts, or barter. I have tons of very hard to find items and maybe we can help each other out. No, L100, L200, L77, L66 parts, sorry. Also no Herh windows from the mid 50's. but lots of other cool parts.
I know many of you follow my projects on my blog and this will be a very exciting one.

fridge

Frank, I may be able to help you locate one from a '68 trailer. I think it was a Tradewind and was parted out. The person lives in Yakima, Wa and has parts stored from parting out a wreck. Call me @ 309-558-8177 and I will share his name and phone number if you are interested. Also have you tried any of the RV Refrigeration refurb shops? Ed

Ed, sorry, I am just seeing your post to me... A Tradewind has a larger fridge than what I am seeking. The Caravel used a very small fridge. It is a Dometic 28A.

I started on this trailer yesterday and I still hope there is someone out there who can help me find this fridge. There is a modern Norcold that can be made to fit but it means removing the one and only drawer in the trailer. It also does not work as well as the original ones do.

So folks, PLEASE help me find this. I have given away so many parts over the years and I am hoping my Airstream karma pays off...

Hey Frank

I'll do some searching on the web for you. If I get any leads. I'll let you know.

sometimes vintage SOB's use the same appliances. you can get a trashed vintage SOB with the fridge for the same price as the fridge for sale on it's own .

i was looking for a photo of one to show all of us non - dometic model experts. here's a few;

I like the thought of finding one in another trailer. The fridge in my 1960 Fan would work but I would (a) loose the drawer in the Caravel and (b) have an original and functioning trailer that would then be missing parts. When I first started this search there was the right one on the classifieds but someone else beat me to it by a few hours.
I keep hoping that my karma is good and one will show up for me...
