If the switch is on the bottom of the clock, it turns the clock display on and off.

This may be something specific to 79 Safari's- I'm not sure. I have a switch mounted between the two roll-up doors. There are wires that go up through the cabinets and to a small digital clock that is mounted just above it. I thought that it might be the running lights but I don't notice anything when I flick it.
