'76 Safari 23-Where was the Stereo Mounted?

Friends - We purchased a restored 1976 Safari 23 and the stereo was removed somewhere along the way. Our trailer currently has no stereo! The speakers are still in place so I want to reuse the speaker locations as they are. I have found four wires coming out behind the "control panel" that look like they may have gone to some kind of fader switch. The location of the wiring of the original stereo (8-track?) is a total mystery. Can anyone tell me where the original stereo was located in this trailer and what to look for in the wiring that went to it? Thanks a million!

Hello and welcome to the forums. My 73 Safari stereo is beneath the control panel. I used a Blaukpunc CD player. So far It is only running the factory speakers but they can defenitely be improved upon.

My problem is I cannot find the old wiring where it came out of the wall for the old stereo so I can connect a new stereo to it. So it sounds like the old speaker wiring came out somewhere near the control panel? Do you have any pictures of where the speaker wires come out of the wall? It sure would be cool if you knew the wire colors!
