Quick registration question

Do I need to get my trailer inspected or can I just go in and get my plates like a normal trailer? Thanks.

Inspection rules would depend on what state you live in. In AZ no inspection, they just want the money for the tags

Looking Good! Pam got ours licensed here in Washington state with no inspection. It had been licensed in Oregon its entire life.

On vacation....

Made it on vacation only 1 day late. We made it to Nashville,Tennessee and been here for 3 days. Heading to New Orleans in the morning. We nixed going to Arizona because of a winter storm sending cold weather there. There have been a few gremlins since on the road. Exterior trailer lights decided to crap out on day 2 and now my new Atwood water heater doesn't want to light. Other than that vacation has been great. I've included some updated trailer pics. Oh everything worked in the airstream except the furnace. The Ac, stove, fridge and oven fired right up. I just had to get a new water pump the day before we left.
The composting toilet is amazing and would recommend it to anyone that is on the fence about getting one. No smell and only had to empty out the liquids once so far.

awesome!
Glad to hear the trailer is working so well. There's always going to be some issues to clear up but it sound like you've done great.

Our second trip after we bought our Safari was to Nashville, good choice

Gosh is it ever neat to see your trailer in a campsite. Make me want to hitch up and head south. Your trailer looks great. Ours is a twin bed layout that works well for us. There are always bugs to get out after a major renovation like you completed. But the more you fix things, the more you will understand how things work. I hope you can stay warm with the furnace on the blink.

Enjoy your maiden voyage. Be safe and have fun.

Thanks trips been great so far and no major hiccups. I did lock myself in the bathroom this morning when the door fell off the bottom track, doh! Managed to get out with a little persuasion. Quick question about my front fan, how do you turn it on? Is it the light knob thingy which activates it? I'm clueless! Oh made it to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

Hi, the fan turns on automatically when you open the vent pretty far. There is a micro switch near the crank. The fan motor might be stuck, from being 45 years old. see if you can spin the fan with your fingers, after removing the light assembly.

I got mine to work, I had to replace the switch, as one of the terminals broke off. And the vent did not raise until I spent some time cleaning the threads and lubricating stuff.

Great thanks for the info I'll try that when we get back.

Some more pics

Here are some more interior pics. Things left to do. Fix my new water heater, still under warranty so going to camping world to get it sorted out. I've tried everything but to no avail. Also I need to reattach my new umbilical cord. Didn't know the colors of wires were not a direct match. My exterior driving lights no longer lights up also need to fix or replace my original fan with a fantastic fan.

Thanks for the picture tour of your new Safari. It does look comfortable and ready to go. I like the "space age control panel" that Airstream still uses to a certain extent. I real piece of Airstream history.

Wow, that looks wonderful! Very well done. It looks too good to camp in. Camping is a rather dirty sport as you know. Anyway, it looks great. Very well done.

My Trade Wind has pillow cases for curtains. Plain white ones. How'm I doing?

Ha ha...

Ha ha its a start I'm currently about to try an add a shower curtain in the bathroom. Any ideas would be much appreciated. I have the curtain slide that's above the door but need to figure how to run the curtain across the front of the toilet???

Getting ready for air bnb....

We decided to rent out our airstream this summer as an air b'nb. I've been rushing to get her in pristine condition, here are some updated pics.

Victron battery monitor & shunt
2000 watt inverter, wall plugs, battery shut off
wifi booster and omni directional antenna
chandelier with remote dimmer
new kitchen counter top and newer stove from 1980 excella
bathroom shower curtain, new shower head
Added a wood background to my control panel (water pump/water tank)

Still need to add:
My new maxxi fan and led light ring
Solar panel 200 watt and mppt controller
Redo all window gaskets, just waiting it to get warmer
Also auto on/off led lights in upper storage cabinets above twin beds

I trimmed out and added bead board to my front dinette to spiff her up
The trim on the picture below hasn't been nailed in yet just placed, hence all the gaps...
