Any pics of a 1970 Safari kitchen?
I recently purchased a 1970 Safari but the kitchen was gutted out. I wanted to try and find some pics of an original so that I can get an idea of how mine should look.
Thanks
Keith

Have a look at the vintage documentation at the site below. You should at least be able to see a cartoon version of your kitchen.
Document Archive - Airstream
You might also have a look at vintageairstream.com and have a look at the picture archives by model by year, you might find some shots you are looking for.
good luck!

Awesome! Thanks. Now I know I have a Safari Double Special Land Yacht.
Now I just need to find a stove, sink, counter and furnace. In addition to the hinge for a 30.5 inch window.

Keith,
Welcome to the 1970 Safari Double, Special Land Yacht model club.
To my knowledge, 1970 was the only year it was built. It's a great trailer with the room of an Overlander up front, but the compactness in the sleeping and bath area of the Globetrotter.
Over the years, I've owned about 10 trailers, and it's still by far our favorite layout.
FYI, if it were me, I would look to buy a new furnace not a 45yrs. old one that might cause you not to wake-up one morning.
Do you still have the original Dometic M52 frig? Those can be tough to find in working order, though they are a great and simple frig.
When you get the chance, post some pics.
Enjoy,

I might be interested in the stove and sink if you want to part with it.
Can you ship it?

Hi Paul.
Thanks for the tip about the furnace. I'll probably skip the furnace for a while.
As is I am having a hard time finding anybody selling a sink, stove or awning that also is willing to ship the item.
I want to keep the kitchen original but it would be way easier to buy aftermarket.
Right now I am focus on installing a missing hinge that took me forever to find a replacement for, installing a solar system and replacing small stuff that is broken(light covers door catch and such).
Eventually I want to strip off the remaining clear coat.
Well nice to meet you.
I'll post more pics soon.
Keith

maybe a little late...
Here are some pictures from a 1970 kitchen. I am about to get this trailer from my brother who got it from my father. My father took good care of it, but my brother has let it get mouse/snake infested. Not sure where to start.
I can get better pictures next week when he bring it over.... if it isn't too late.
