Yacht Haven Ft Lauderdale

I'm looking for some feedback on Yacht Haven in Ft Lauderdale. I'm planning to run in a half marathon in Lauderdale in mid-February, in the middle of our three-week winter break, most of which will be at Fort DeSoto in St. Pete. We're looking for a decent spot for our 16' Bambi for a couple of days as close as possible to downtown Lauderdale. (I need to be at the start line by 5:00 a.m. on the day of the race!) Thanks for any advice/alternative suggestions!

We spent three nights there in February of this year while visiting friends nearby. It's a very nice campground, but the sites are a little tight. It should not be any problem for a Bambi, though.

There are not a lot of choices in Fort Lauderdale proper. I would suggest making a reservation early as South Florida campgrounds are slammed that time of year.

Here are a couple of pictures we took when we were at Yacht Haven in February.

Thanks so much for the feedback. As long as it is clean and tidy and not full of rowdies, it will be fine for our needs. Lauderdale isn't a "destination" for us; it's just where we need to be for the race.

Try Easterlin Park off Power Line Road, about 10 minutes from down town. Quiet. Good spot to prepare and recover. You will need a reservation.

Land Yacht Haven is far from a park untidy and full of rowdies. It's the most pristene and controled park you could even imagine.
