Who Needs Yosemite Campground Reservations Next Weekend?

Hi Folks -

We're going to Burning Man early this week and have two separate reservations for campgrounds in Yosemite Valley, right in the park. One is for North Pines, the other, Upper Pines. We made these reservations months ago and sadly can't make it.

Both reservations are for two nights, arriving Saturday, August 28th and departing Monday, August 30th.

We don't want them to go to waste and thought that some folks on the forum could use them

Please let us know if you're interested and we'll provide additional details.

Happy trails,

Wow, what an awesome thing to offer. I wish I could grab those spots from you and head down. This is the kind of thing that really makes this forum great. Someone is in for a nice spur of the moment to one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Norm and Mary,

Thank you for your kind words.

We're so glad we posted! An Airforums member contacted us and they'll be using one of the campsites.

One day we'll have to talk shop about our '59 Overlanders. We love the bunks in yours!

Happy trails,

Yosemite bound

We have tried and tried to get a campsite at Yosemite but have had no luck. We have been told that Yosemite reservations fill up seven months in advance in the first ten minutes that they open. Because of this our family thought that there was no hope of seeing Yosemite for the first time and would have to wait until next year to try again. Today was our lucky day!!!! Thanks to the community that Airstream Forums provides, my families dream of having a "Yosemite experience" will come true sooner than we thought possible. Thank you Yhottys and Airstream Forums for this opportunity, it is very much appreciated.
I need to get packin.

Yhott, see ya playaside! Wish I had a reason to get out there early to try that feed the artists cooking! Bring Monte and the gang on by our "Airstreameri and Geologists" at 3:00 and Baaagdaawd, we'll have a very interesting group going.

I tried unsuccessfully this year to get a spot in the park. On the phone and my computer at 7 am. I know others who have several laptops and a team of friends to try and get a spot. The date reservations open are the 15th of the month at 7am 5 months ahead of the month you want to go. I have heard the camping on the valley floor is extremely crowded and congested with lots of vehicle traffic. There are also ticket scalpers who buy up Yosemite campsites. But, there are 1st come first serve spots and also private campgrounds outside the park with hookups.

Hey there Perry!

We're planning on stopping by on Wednesday for the potluck. Gemma's making pancit noodles.

Please come visit the gang at BurnStream Court. We'll be at 8:15 and Hanoi, or thereabouts.

Happy and safe journeys,

We have reservations for 3 nights on the Valley Floor starting ON Labor Day. The way I got them was to check every 15 min or so many months ago for a cancellation. We got lucky.

Are either of the reservations still available? If one can accommodate a 20ft trailer I'd be interested.
:-)

Vinnie,

it's a stew kinda sorta like haggis without the oatmeal (Murray's Scottish, by the way) and morcilla without the sausage action.

Wiki it our friend!

Happy Trails!

Thanks everyone!

The campsite reservations have been transferred to two AirForums members. We're looking forward to some great images.

We're at Pyramid Lake, Nevada on our way early to Burning Man where Murray will be executive chef for Feed the Artists, working with dedicated volunteers to feed over 700 hardworking and deserving artists and volunteers that give of themselves to the community at Black Rock Desert.

Happy and safe journeys,

Bad news

My situation has changed this weekend and I cannot use the campsite I acquired from Gemma & Murray. If anyone is interested in camping on the Yosemite Valley floor adjacent to the Merced river in the North Pines campground PM me asap.

This is driving me crazy, I sure wish I could go. My BIL lives in Sonoma Co. and we hope to visit him and Yosemite in the next year or so. He runs the Pacific Regional Office for the NPCA ( NCPA ), he visits all of the western parks on a regular basis. Pretty sweet.

I hope the folks that got the sites enjoy them. Me, I'll be camping at Cunningham Falls SP in Maryland this weekend. Nice but not the same as Yosemite!

Happy trails,
I'd love to hear more about your '59 Overlander. We really enjoy ours and hope to have the restoration done within the next six months. Have you posted pics of the '59 here?
