F15 and P51 Fly -By.
Tuesday night had a F-15 low level fly over that nearly blew the window's out, it was INCREDIBLE ! It did that a few times solo then matched up with a P-51 in formation. WOW!! Last time i was there it had F-22 Raptor's also.
We had to leave Wed.AM . Understand they had the WWII Bombing run's etc. Wed. Nite. Darn. Maybe next year i'll go for the B-17 and P-51 ride and spend a week. Also need to get Generator to power AC.
Walked 6-10 miles a day. It's a "HUGE" event. My favorite is the War-Bird's.

That F-15 flyby freaked my poor dog out completely. She thought thunderstorms were bad until she heard that. The Heritage Flight with the P-51 was cool. I've watched most of the air shows from the campground or attended forums during the show. I think I'll watch from the flight line tomorrow when the Snowbirds get here. I've always wanted to see their show.

Sorry, I haven't taken many photos of the cool airplanes, though there are many. The photos of the Mars are for Fly At Night, per her request.
My focus this year has been forums and gathering information. I've been out of general aviation flying for years, and this is preparation for getting back in. What you don't know can hurt you, rather badly, so this is my way of getting my knowledge current.

I have taken Less & Less Pictures over the year's. Most time's none. Have two fancy "Canon" camera's and lot's of len's at home. Have found i rarely look at the pictures ,and fewer people want to see them. Have also found that traveling with "Less" is better. The only thing we carried were "Water Camel " back pack's.
Managing all the "Stuff" we would take got more difficult and frustrating. We even left our bikes at home as there not allowed in the expo.Carried Solar panel which makes want them on "Top" another thing not to carry.
Airadventure has a web site with daily picture updates.

Any photos of the camping areas? Might want to attend this event in the near future after retirement.

I have a couple of shots of the camping area in my phone. I'll try to get a few more, and I'll post them in about a week--home computer is a lot more familiar for me.
While they do have water/electric sites available now, they are pricey. Most of it is boondocking with water and dump resources nearby. All areas allow generators between 7 am and 10 pm. Some allow them to run all night. I've been comfortable here for a week, even though I'm doing my own water carrying and blue tank dumping. Camping equipment ranges from one-person tents to mega motor homes.

Mimi,
If you email to yourself the photos on your phone, you can save them onto your IPad and post them from there.

I still remember the Prop Wash of 13000HP and the roar of the 10 P-51's that made it. What a fond memory. My one disappointment was that they moved the B-17 off the field. It did fly over ,but not low enough .

OSH16 was a great experience, as always. From the Martin Mars that flew every day (Kermit Weeks sponsored the fuel and other costs to bring it to AirVenture--some $40K as I heard it), to the night air shows, the Snowbirds that haven't been to Oshkosh in 33 years, the eight Spartans parked in the Vintage area, the C-5, F-4's, all the Coast Guard aircraft, "Fightertown" down in the warbirds area with all the P-51's, P-40's, etc.
And then there are the seminars and Warbirds-In-Review, this year a memorable one with Army pilot Bill Reeder, who was flying a Cobra when shot down at Ben Het, then marched up the Ho Chi Minh trail for months before arriving in Hanoi to spend the rest of his POW time in the Hanoi Hilton. His story of perseverance, attitude and endurance should be heard by everyone, particularly the young.
Yes, there seemed to be more Airstreams than I remember in the past. About two dozen scattered all over Camp Scholler. Attendance in general was up and the campground was full, at least closer to the airfield. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, with many campfires, group meeting tents and lots of laughter.
If you haven't been to Oshkosh and you like airplanes, this ought to be on your bucket list!

I love aircraft but my stomach doesn't like them
I the past month a couple of warbirds flew over Nixa; B-17 and a couple of days ago a P-51. Love the sound of the Merlin.
I'll definitely have to plan on attending this event.
Thanks for sharing
Kelvin

800 exhibitors.Over 1,000 forums and workshops attended by more than 75,000 people. Attendance approximately 550,000 for the week. I don't have 2016 number's.

Lucky Airstreamer. I will be there next year. It will be my fourth trip at EAA Air Venture. I lost my medical last year and trade my airplane for a new 27FB and a Denali 2500. Enjoy the stay.
