Wherever that is, I wouldn't post it in a public forum. :-)
Be creative. It may not even need to be the trailer...

We keep a set in the tow vehicle. It has the keypad on the driver door to unlock it.

How about behind the black drain cap? That's got to be the last place anyone would want to look.

I wear it on a necklace chain, always with me. Use the spare template, lighter than the original style.

Speaking purely in generalities…
People have a bad habit of hiding a spare key where it's easy to get to. Understandably so, because when you've locked yourself out you're already frustrated and a spare key that's hard to get to only adds to the frustration factor.
BUT, the harder it is for you to get to, the harder it will be for some vile miscreant to get to as well.
Probably the least accessible place is on the roof. You would need to borrow a ladder to get to the key. Which doesn't exactly make it desirable since you may not have a ladder handy when you need the key.
So, in keeping with the inaccessibility theme but in a place that you don't need special equipment, the next choice is to duct-tape it to the belly pan near the axles, right on the trailer's centerline so it's just as hard to reach from either side.
Since my Interstate isn't even a trailer and therefore has no belly pan, it's not like I'm revealing MY secret!

Where do you order lighter spares? I only have the originals.

Re: Console Vault (at Costco)
Just curious, has anyone ever seen one of these up close? Evidently, FBI and law enforcement use them to store their weapons in their vehicles:

Sounds sturdy, but kind of expensive...

Yes, I've seen many different kinds of auto vaults. I work law enforcement conventions a few times a year. All their toys are expensive....and cool.

Hi, same here; I keep Lincoln keys in my trailer, and trailer keys in my Lincoln. Lincoln has keyless entry pad on driver's door. Also have many spare keys elsewhere.

Same here. Standard operating procedure: Set up camp, keys always in pocket. After set up, Keys from truck go in trailer and trailer keys in truck with keyless entry. Worked really well when camping at Disneyland when different ages would head back to camp on different schedules.

I wish they'd put keyless entry on the Airstream!

Nowadays, I do not have a hidden key on the trailer. When I was solo I kept a magnetic box with a storage hatch key hidden under a propane tank. I kept a door key hidden inside of that locked storage area.
After driving 180 miles without any trailer keys, I now keep a trailer door key on my set of vehicle & house keys that is in my pocket 100% of the time (when I have my pants on). I also put a trailer door key on my wife's set of keys that she keeps in her purse. Between the two of us, we always have had a key so far (knock on wood). I keep a full set of trailer keys inside the tow vehicle.
When we have guests I have some extra single door keys, (kept in the tow vehicle) on a ring with a large colorful tag, that they can use to come and go. We use one of these if we go to the pool or to the beach.

The dog either carries it clipped to her collar, or I stick it between the ol' knockers (along with the cell phone).
Both work well.
