What to do in Feb around Phoenix

We will be around the Phoenix area with the Argosy for the month of February. Is there anything Airstream going on then? How about places on the "must see" list. Any info about Quartzite? We will be driving down from Wisconsin, it was 26 below zero here this morning. The wind chill was around -40 below.

Phoenix things to do

If we were in the Phoenix area, we'd absolutely be going to this exhibit.

Dale Chihuly Glass Art at Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix - 2013/2014

If you go through Oklahoma on your way to Phoenix, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art has a fantastic permanent collection of Dale Chihuly's works.

Safe travels,

February is the best time to be in Phoenix! The weather is great, and if you like outdoor things (golf, hiking, kayaking, sailing, tennis, horseback riding, etc) you'll have a ton to do. I like to look at Groupon and Living Social sights for places I'm going to visit, too, as they often have deals on local attractions.

If you like music, you must check out the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM). It's in a gorgeous new building and the exhibits are truly excellent.

Art Walks happen in Scottsdale and Phoenix every week, our botanical garden is beautiful in February, and there are many more things to do!

Ooo, yes, definitely do the Chihuly exhibit! The botanical garden is great, and this just makes it better. I've heard that if you are there at sunset the Chihuly glass is even more special, but I can't verify it as I've only been there in the sunshine.

There is a very interesting zoo out by the air base on the west edge of the Phoenix urban sprawl. The big cats have cages one could almost reach through.....

Tucson has the old Western movie set at Tombstone plus the Desert museum which are both worth the effort to see.

There is the open pit mine at Bisbee visible from space as well.

There are several baseball spring training camps in the area as well.

Is someone with an Argosy and no club affiliation welcome at the 4CU Jammer Jam Rally? If so can I just show up or do I need to pre register. If I need to pre register where do I do that? Any and all info about this would be appreciated. Brian.

Hahaha. That is an interested question since I am not a member and also own an Argosy. I can freely say, not being a current member, that you will be very welcomed with this crew.

The Renaissance Faire at Apache Jct., just east of Phoenix is good fun. We went a couple of years ago and may go again this year although we ail be staying in Tucson.

Hi again from AZ. . . yep, sign up, pay your fee, but be forewarned, you might get recruited into 4CU, as Crabbey said, welcoming group. regards, (from 60 degree and not a cloud in the sky Phoenix) Craig

Hey Brian... Here is the sign-up page for the Jammer Jam Rally. You are welcome to attend a 4CU Rally as a guest. We'd love to have you join us for the fun ... just get the info, sign up, send the rally fee, and make your reservations at the Lo Lo Mai Springs RV Park ... and you're good to go. I've added an info flier below form the 4CU newsletter. It's a very fun rally! Crabbey1 was a guest at the 4CU New Year's Rally with his Argosy and I dare say, he had a very good time.

We live off of US60 within a mile of the The Renaissance Faire and it is a real traffic nightmare for us with the crowds going there in the morning and then departing in late afternoon. We fortunately got a stop light so we can cross the dual lane highway within a reasonable time frame. Before, one could be stuck for over an hour trying to turn left when east bound at the end of the day.

The three stop lights in Gold Canyon can require an hour of your time when the traffic is at it's worst. So plan to be there really early and leave mid afternoon or really late.

Just my experience for the last 12 years living near this six weekends long attraction. At least the Championship golf tournament died in Gold Canyon during this same time period. That added insult to injury, as they say.

Have been out of the Arabian horse world for years, but the Scottsdale Show was the place to rub elbows with sheiks and movie stars. The decorated stable areas were worth a visit on their own.....even if you don't like horses!

Feb. 13 - 23.
