Because I own 2 diesels (Airstream LY diesel pusher) and 07 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel....always watching for price changes.
Tonight in Havre, MT diesel is selling for $1.79 per gallon. Earlier today I filled up my company car with unleaded and paid $1.88 per gallon in Shelby, MT

Here in Beaumont TX along I 10 regular is 1.53, diesel is 1.79. Back in the hood both are a little cheeper.

Diesel. 1.79 ,- up .07 from yesterday
Reg. 1.62, - up .03
Funny how gas in the tank can go up like that.
