$1.71/gal unleaded in Bentonville, AR. On a trip to Harrison, AR yesterday, I saw a sign for a diesel price of $2.18/gal...... I think it was in Alpena, AR.... maybe Marble, AR.

St Louis Mo is weird. We were at $1.65 avg around town, then by coincidence, all the stations went to $1.99 on Thursday last week. (Reg Unleaded)
Seems like it didn't stick, but has settled around $1.80. So, they were able to get a .15 a gal price increase pulled off. It was strange, gas in IL was the same price as St Louis, even though IL has a higher gas tax.
From what I understand here, Quicktrip controls the market, if they go up, everyone follows within minutes.

$1.67 at Bradley in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the other stations in town it has been creeping up as crude has stabilized and moved up a bit in the last week. Wholesale gas was $1.33 yesterday.

Since the crude from Alberta can't get an ok to pipe it to the west coast of BC, they want to send it south through the US and ship it to other countries. They are also trying to expand a pipeline through the upper midwest to ship more tar sands crude—probably to ship it to Europe or elsewhere once they get it to the Great Lakes. More lawsuits by landowners in Nebraska have been filed since Keystone send notices to them threatening eminent domain actions against them—this allows them to renew the lawsuit that was dismissed by the Nebraska Supreme Court recently now that there is a active dispute. No matter what anyone else does, the lawsuits in Nebraska keep coming. If it ever gets built, all of 35 permanent jobs. Guess which two brothers who spend many millions to influence elections are heavily invested in tar sands oil and are behind the pipeline? It is not clear if they are so leveraged their fortunes may take a big hit if the pipeline never gets built and oil prices stay low for a while.

The prices have gone up here in Springfield/Nixa MO. Last week $1.67 now $1.77 but the difference between regular unleaded and diesel is less than a $1/gal now, $2.49.

The oil glut must be over.

New oil pipeline spill this weekend on the Yellowstone River upstream of Billings, over 40k gallons. Residents of Billings having to use bottled water and oil found all the way to Williston, ND. The article mentioned how old the pipelines are in the United States. While proponents of the Keystone XL pipeline talk about the jobs that will be created they could put to work many just to repair existing pipeline infrastructure but I doubt the pipeline owners want to do that.

They ought to raise the fuel tax, it has been the same since before the turn of the century. That money goes right into road maintenance and construction, a lot of it in matching funds to localities and States. In most places the roads can certainly use the work -- there are sections of Interstate that have potholes the size of bison and some of the early 60's concrete highways will rattle your fillings loose.

I don't mind paying taxes when you can look, see and feel where the money went...

We've been seeing as much as a $.25 rise but it is the typical pricing scheme that QT uses in this area. Usually on Thursday we see the jump. They then proceed to drop over the course of the next six days. We've been between $1.64 and $1.69 for regular. Jumped today to $1.89.

Crude oil prices continue to drop and the reserve stock of unprocessed oil is at a 14 year high. Inventories rose 10.1 million barrels in the week ended Jan 16th. Refineries are operating at 85.5% capacity as some are shut down for maintenance which can affect local supplies and prices. With the high crude production levels and lower refining, the crude has no where to go but storage. Highest stockpiles are in the midwest.

The money SHOULD go into road and bridge construction, but you know how the government takes money from one area to fund another.
If they want to increase the fuel tax and really improve the roads I'm all for. I just don't believe them. Everything about government is smoke and mirrors. Nothing is as it should be.

Hi, today I bought my second tank of gas for my F-150; Regular was $1.99 and it cost me right at $60.00 for a 30 gallon fill up. [This was at a Unocal 76 station]
