Gas in MO
Sorry, Kani, but we had a little bounce yesterday. $1.52 for unleaded.
If the folks in the middle east stop shooting at each other it will calm down.

We were flirting between $1.20-1.25 on Friday. Yesterday QT bumps up to $1.49 and everybody follows.

We had to go to Denver today and are still seeing slight declines. I filled up for $1.26 off Sheridan blvd. Here in the mountains we've moved to a low of $1.77 and a high of $1.93. Once the ski season ends the gap between our town and Denver will be within 10 cents. Our local fuel stations take advantage while they can.

1.39 per gallon regular, Harrisonburg, Virginia first day of the new year!
Get ready for a move up in price, probably 2.25 a gallon is something to get
used to for the next ten years. If you want to protect yourself from higher average
prices you could make an investment in oil shares that would offset your costs. Hedge now or Headache later!
That's my two cents for the new year!

At Sam's in Grand Junction, $1.37. When we drove through Hotchkiss, 28¢ more. Apparently they bring it there by 5 gallon cans in a Lexus.

Yesterday evening I paid 1.96 for diesel at Wal Mart in Port Lavaca Tx. That was up from 1.93 a couple of days ago. Looks like it's inching back up.

Wholesale gas is up around 30¢/gallon in the last few weeks ($1.19 yesterday). The Gaza situation and successive production cuts by OPEC have affected the market. Actually it seems retail prices have not increased as fast as wholesale. If there's a cease fire in Gaza, maybe prices will stabilize or drop a little.
Back when I was a kid, prices in a seemingly perpetual gas war in NJ were 14.9¢. I think it was 1947 when we used to go see my grandparents in Rutherford. Adjusted for inflation, now that would be $1.37, exactly what we paid a few days ago. Gas cost more outside of NJ—so if it were 19.9¢ in 1947, it should be $1.83 today.
This is approximately the range of prices now, same as 1947. The prices we paid in the late '90's often were less than in the late '40's.

This is true, but adjusted for inflation, a lot of things are cheaper now than in the 1940's.

Whats your point? but what? Inflation adjustment is a time tested measure of the true base or relative value of things. This is not a yeah-but issue "it is what it is."
Your response is redundant, the point made is the point!
Another example of maximizing the cost of oil by the producers?
I think not! Be thankful oil has not outpaced inflation like your Airstreams
new cost!

I filled up today in Littleton near Denver where the lowest price I found was $1.64. The price where I live in the mountains continued to go down until last week when it made a slight increase. Today the lowest price near Dillon is at $1.67. In a few months we've gone from a 70 cent difference in the lowest price down to 3 cents today. I love the games our local stations play with us in a tourist area. What really kills me is that the highest priced station is currently at $2.09 and is within sight of the lowest priced station, yet I see just as many customers paying $2.09 while they can stand there and look at the big yellow sign for $1.67.
