That's interesting, 2air. I see Costco is not on the list, neither is Arco...

it does change some from year2year...

big surprise for me was no BP or exxon/mobil...

chevron is a newer addition to the list.

mfa is a smaller company so i was surprised, but they've been on since very early.

i seldom buy anything less than premium (>91 octane) so i avoid the hole ethanol issue, except for the lawn mower...

there doesn't seem to be a list like this for us sludge burners either.

cheers

In the San Antonio area diesel is running 3.25 but it can be found for 3.14 if you know where to go. Unleaded is 2.99 but it also can found much cheaper off the interstates. The high price I quoted are in IH-10 East of San Antonio. I'm seeing more stations (Texaco and Chevron) charging 5 cents a gallon more for diesel charged on a credit card. This does not apply to gasoline.

For the life of me, I can't understand why diesel is so much higher than gasoline and especially why the diesel purchase is penalized a nickle a gallon for credit card purchase.

I have heard from a reliable source that auto sales are down 58% in some areas of the Country. I'm affraid we haven't seen the last of the fuel prices.

Hi, I'm not surprized that Arco is not on the good list; This is an expression I use and the truth, "I won't burn Arco in my lawn mower." I won't buy or use fuels sold at no name stations, Joe's Dairy, Costco, Sam's Club, Vons, Albertsons, or Arco; [these are all the same] You get what you pay for. Many driveability concerns have been cured by recommending a switch to a major brand fuel.

Amoco didn't even make the list and I thought they were widely considered to have the best fuels. I also thought that a whole lot of different gas stations bought fuel from a lot of the same distributers. I wonder if I should stop buying Kroger gas (large grocery store chain here in the south east).

Some cars run better( more efficient, better gas mileage, more power) on lower octane fuels? Our Honda Accord's manual states the preferred fuel is 87 octane fuel. I had a Honda motorcycle that got better gas mileage and produced more power( as measured on the same dyno machine, it was a small improvement but still) on 87 than on 93. My Dodge w/hemi manual states that 89-90 octane is the preferred fuel but you can also run 87 octane. I normally run 89-90.

Anyone heading south on I75 through Florida, do NOT stop for fuel in Alachua County!!! Prices are outrageous and will rise 5 cents a gallon after the first of the year, due to increased road taxes. One station in the city of Alachua is charging $3.59 for diesel!!!

Regular gas here is $3.239/gallon at its cheapest. Not a good time to have to drive the tow vehicle to work.

Diesel $7.48 per Gallon
Regular $8.02 but just due to the strong Euro (1 Euro is $1.46) and the weak $$...

If the the Euro would be at a normal level like 1 euro to $1.20 we would pay $9.96 for Diesel and $9.95 for Regular... That really su... Our company is now planning to sell all our Diesel Cars and get gas cars converted to lpg which is more than half the fuel costs per gallon ($3.54). My wife has a lpg car and is allways at others at the filling station.

Too, nice!!

If it keeps going at the current rate we may be paying around $7.00/gal in four years. What will Bjorn be paying in Germany then? Take a look at the first post of this thread in 2003. Yikes!

Diesel here is a half buck more than regular...

10 minutes ago in Huntington Beach, California (Orange County), diesel hit a new high of $3.79 and regular is $3.29. Local experts say our fuel prices in Southern Cal have not caught up to the rising oil prices...YIKES!
