Jack,

research the exportation of diesel from US to Europe, in particular. I believe it was 2011 or 2012, diesel was the US' #1 export. Yes, additional fuel requirements have caused some increase, but supply and demand manipulated by export/trade policies have a much greater impact, IMO.

What is the cost of fuel in your area?

Remember when everyone was worried about $5 gal. Plus Peak Oil...
Haha, $2 gal in the bag forever soon.
Hope you got your stream 5 years ago, cheap!

Over 40 years ago, a survey was made with Airstream owners, as to how much would they be willing to pay for fuel, before they quit RVing.

The answer was $ 5.00 per gallon.

What would that $ 5.00 per gallon cost 40 years ago, be in today's economy?

Ouch.

I only care what the prices will be next June when I tow out West to Zion. I'm not towing this winter and I commute in a Honda Civic.

Now experts are stating cheap gas is not good and will curtail exploration causing economic doom to North Dakota and other oil boom areas.

Prices here in Nixa, MO are $2.35 reg unleaded and $3.48 diesel.

Maybe it is time for the oil executives to get pay cuts to what they are worth. The private club of multi-million dollar salaries needs be disbanded.

Perhaps capping these executive pay to the level of the President of the United States who has far more responsibility and getting rid of the corporate perk Gulfstream and larger jets would help keep fuel prices where they should be (along with other industries as well).

It is not coincidental that diesel costs about 30% more than gasoline here in the states as that is about the fuel efficiency gain of a similar size diesel over the similar size gasoline engine. The revenue per vehicle to the oil companies stays the same.

$2.23 in Grand Junction today at the Bradley station on North Ave. east of 2nd St.

Diesel prices are higher for years now because of the exports to Europe as Rich says. Europeans have many more diesel cars than we do and need the fuel and will pay more for it, so the fuel companies export a lot and we (actually you, we have gassers) pay more because of that.

Too bad hell will freeze over first.. Its hard to get behind CEO pay when it so far above the average pay of the company.. 20 yrs ago it was 40% higher than the highest pay in that company.. now a days it closer to 150% higher.

Oil prices are expected to be back to around $100 a barrel in 12-18 months according to T.Boone Pickens so gas might be back to levels a month a go.

I wonder what that will do to diesel prices. before gas started its free fall the difference between RUL gas and diesel was .30 to a .50 higher. now it more like a buck to a buck 25 higher..

here is interesting article on gasbuddy.com

The company I work for (medical supplies) has gone the same way. Our top guys make millions per year, just on the stock sales. (They receive options, etc..) so, the company gets managed to maintain a high stock price. IMO it's not always the best way to run a company.
The question then becomes, how can these very high compensation individuals be regulated? It just leads to more government intervention and regulation, then more government agencies, and individuals to support that whole bureaucracy. Those guys all have to be paid a nice wage, and they get fantastic benefits, in terms of a retirement package, and job security.. (So we pay more taxes.)
I just don't see an easy fix. Frustrating to say the least.

Hi, from what I've seen, when a company has to cut expenses, they fire the little guys first.

Do you pronounce that Sheets or Sheetses? I've heard people in Pennsylvania say Sheetses and it sounds funny.
