What is the cost of fuel in your area?

Frisco, TX. Bought gas at a Racetrack on Sunday afternoon for $3.52 Unleaded Regular. On Monday morning, Racetrack, QuikTrip and adjacent stations are $3.69. 7-11s still holding around $3.53 except for the 7-11 next to the Racetrcks and QT.

Drove east of Dallas and found gas $3.49.

I guess the news about Cypress economy bailout hadn't reached them yet.

Regular fuel shot up to around $3.74.9 a day or two ago in Central Ohio.

I don't understand it, it will go down and then for no apparent reason shoots up $.20 or $.30/gallon. And, to make it worse, it seems they all go the same route and end up at the same price -- now, this seems to be price fixing to me.

Right now, Murphy Oil (which in Ohio operates on the Wal-Mart lots) is offering $.10/gallon off if you use a Wal-Mart loaded gift card, and I think I was told it would run until sometime in July. You can go online to find all of their locations in various states, although I don't know if they run the same promotions in all states at the same time.

Frisco, TX (DFW) prices were $3.33 then overnight $3.49 for Reg. A couple of 7-11s were holding at $3.25 while most stations were $3.33 but now they are at $3.51.

We've been on the road for 3 weeks (27APR-to date) and the highest price for regular was observed yesterday in Branson, MO: $3.80/gallon for regular.

Regular gas here has gone up nearly $.40 in the last week now hovering around $3.90/gallon. The irony is that diesel is normally around 35 to 40 cents higher but is running $3.69 now. A few stations have arbitarily raised their diesel to a penny or two of regular prices--obviously taking advantage of the public dismay at what is happening to fuel prices.

Yesterday it was £1.49 per liter near Bristol, United Kingdom when I filled up my 2002 Mercedes E320 diesel station wagon. That translates to $2.26 per liter or about $7.53 per gallon. Makes the $3.50+ price in Arizona seem like a bargain. (I got around 4o mpg on the motorway at 70 mph)

This is interesting. Missouri has the 2nd lowest fuel tax in the nation. (I think..)
I think it just gives retailers the opportunity to make more $$.

Just arrived in NE Oklahoma (Bernice, OK - Great Lake of the Cherokee's) yesterday - gas on Monkey Island was $3.71/gallon for regular here.

Working our way down to Gore, OK on Wednesday and will keep the group informed on fuel prices...

In Midwest South of Chicago, yesterday regular was $4.23p/gal & diesel was & $3.95. We know those figures represent a 75 cent increase respectively. My sister was down for the weekend from Northern Wisconsin, and she cried when she needed to refuel for the return trip home. =(

Looking at the GasBuddy gas map I should take my vacation in the Southeast.

As the economy picks up steam and cash strapped states raise taxes, gas prices will be going crazy. Gotta pay to play.
